TR2 not as quite the condition I thought! 10/06

After taking off some of the panels, it looked a bit bleak. I managed to contact the several of the previous oweners and traced have so far traced the history back to 1980 - only another 30 years to fill in!

It appears that to preserve the car, a previous owner has laid fiberglass sheets over the bare metal & then painted over it. However, water has penetrated inbetween & rotted the metal instead. I've now got 2 options. I can repair what is there, replace the panels piece by piece, or replace the whole rear end.

The repair option is a long haul and would involve cutting most of the metal out. The replacement panel option is expensive and the new panels don't fit very well so it may end up ina bit of a mess. The final option is tricky, as I may destroy both the new rear end and my car as a whole, but appears to be the easiest and more appriopraite course of action. Just need to find one!
